 | White Mountain Climbing Camp White Mountain Climbing Camp provides a safe and challenging climbing experience for beginner to advanced climbers. Taught by instructors trained and certified by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA), this camp delivers the finest climbing in New England and engages students in the development of a progression of skills tailored to their specific climbing goals.
The White Mountain School is an AMGA accredited rock climbing program with trained climbing instructors who adhere to a 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio to ensure the correct level of challenge, guidance, and safety for all participants.

White Mountain Climbing Camp focuses on the fundamentals of rock climbing through a low student-to-instructor ratio. Students learn the basics and then embark on adventures at large cliffs such as Cannon, Cathedral and/or Whitehorse. Ultimately, students experience the freedom of climbing rock in the mountains.
During camp, a typical week might include:
- Climb routes of varying levels of challenge at local cliffs
- Learn the basics of gear placement and anchor building
- Climb legendary multi-pitch routes like the Whitney Gilman on Cannon Cliff or Thin Air on Cathedral
- Learn to sport climb at the famous Rumney rock climbing area
- Gain an understanding of what practices make climbing safe and unsafe

 Hiapo Emmons-ShawHiapo has been climbing rocks, ice, big walls, and mountains for more than fifteen years, and has been teaching others’ how to do it for almost as long. His experience ranges from El Capitan in Yosemite Valley to volcanoes in Ecuador and from glaciated peaks in the Canadian Rockies to granite cliffs here in New Hampshire. He most enjoys long free climbs with a sense of adventure and wildness and tries to share that love with his students. His training includes an American Mountain Guides Association Rock Instructor certification, Wilderness First Responder certification, and AIARE level II avalanche training. He has been teaching rock and ice climbing at the White Mountain School for ten years. |
 Gabriel BoisseauGabe has been working and teaching for the past three years at The White Mountain School and climbing for the past fifteen years. In the classroom, he teaches Anatomy and Physiology combined with a Wilderness First Responder curriculum. He also teaches Wilderness First Aid courses and has been a nationally registered EMT and Wilderness EMT for the past ten years. Outside of the classroom, and in the vertical frontier, he's climbed rock, ice, and mountains from the Canadian Rockies, to the Desert Southwest, and throughout New England. With The WMS, he's coached beginner and advanced climbing for four seasons. Gabe thoroughly enjoys exposing new climbers to the sport of climbing and helping advanced climbers take their skills to the next level. |
 Alex TeixeiraAlex Teixeira’s passion for the outdoors was born in the White Mountains of New Hampshire where he grew up skiing and hiking. Alex began climbing seven years ago, and since then his climbing has taken him throughout the mountains of New England, the American northwest, and parts of Europe. By sharing his experiences in the mountains with others, Alex realized his love for teaching. Currently, Alex is living in central Massachusetts where he is a special educator in the public school system. Alex is a licensed Special and Elementary educator in the state of Massachusetts. He holds C.P.R., Wilderness First Responder, and American Mountain Guides Association, Single Pitch Instructor certifications, and has also completed the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE), Level I course. Alex is psyched to be apart of the his second summer with us and is eager to share his love for the outdoors and climbing with everyone involved. |
