Spirituality and Music, Basic Traditional Medicine, Culinary Arts, Vietnam in Film and Literature, Family Violence, Wilderness Survival, Computer Programming, Organic Farming, Screen Play Adaptation, The Literature of the American West, Existentialist Philosophy, French Literature (in French), Advanced Creative Writing, and Introduction To Buddhism, are all examples of recent independent studies. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in good academic standing may propose an independent study course in a subject not covered by our curriculum. Such courses usually involve significant reading and writing, as well as independent work and research under the supervision of a faculty member.
