White Mountain Climbing

  • July 12 - July 19, 2008

White Mountain Climbing camp offers a safe and wonderful climbing experience for beginner to advanced climbers. Taught by American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) trained White Mountain School climbing faculty, this camp delivers the finest climbing in New Hampshire and allows students to engage in a skills progression tailored specifically to their goals.

The White Mountain School is the only high school in the country to have an AMGA accredited rock climbing program and the trained climbing faculty adhere to a minimum of 4:1 student to instructor ratio to ensure the correct level of challenge, guidance and safety for all participants.

White Mountain Climbing focuses on the fundamentals of rock climbing while experiencing the freedoms which the mountains offer. With a small student to instructor ratio, our experienced staff is able to teach the basics and share adventures on larger cliffs such as Cannon, Cathedral, and / or Whitehorse.

During camp, a typical week might include:

  • Toproping climbs of various difficulties at Echo Crag and learning the basics of gear placement and anchor building.
  • Climb legendary routes like the Whitney Gilman on Cannon Cliff or Thin Air on Cathedral.
