White Mountain Summer

Exploration and Expression

  • June 28 - July 12, 2008

The White Mountain School is excited to offer a summer experience like no other for 12-16 year olds. The outdoor learning experiences of White Mountain Summer allow students to develop their curiosity and creativity – while having three weeks of amazingly good times.

Explore and Have Fun in the Outdoors

Every day is designed to include at least one of a variety of exciting activities. From our base camp at The White Mountain School's beautiful campus, students embark on backpacking trips in the spectacular White Mountain National Forest, canoe the scenic upper Connecticut River, paddle the wild waves of the White River, and learn to rock climb some legendary terrain in Franconia Notch State Park.

Discovering Our World through Adventure

In each activity, education is an active partner. While hiking we study forests and watersheds, while paddling we investigate pollution issues and river dynamics, while rock climbing we focus on geology, and while constructing trails and working on our farm we experience the impact of service and sustainability. Each stage has its own power – and leads compellingly to the next exciting investigation!
