Application Process

The Admission Office looks for evidence of academic preparation in addition to considering the following among applicants:
  • Student profile
  • Transcript
  • Standardized test scores
  • Student essay
  • Parent statement
  • Recommendations
  • Interview
Ready to apply? Follow the steps below:

1. Request Information

Please begin by filling out our inquiry form so we can learn a little about you. In return, we’ll send you a copy of our Viewbook and Course Guide.

2. Interview

We strongly recommend that applicants (and potential applicants) visit campus for a tour and interview. Our beautiful campus and diverse community is best experienced in person; however, we also offer Skype and phone interviews in which our admission counselors will do their best to capture the campus spirit in words. 3. Standardized Tests

Depending on the grade for which you’re applying, sign up to take one of the following accepted standardized tests. Please request to have your scores submitted to The White Mountain School. Our SSAT school code is 8194, and our TOEFL school code is 1944.

  • Applicants for Grades 9-10, choose one: SSAT or ISEE
  • Applicants for Grades 11-12/PG, choose one: SSATISEEPSAT, SAT or ACT
Applicants for whom English is not their first language are also required to submit TOEFL or TOEFL Junior scores.

4. Submit Application

Lastly, please complete the Standard Application Online. All standardized test scores and application materials are due by January 31. We will accept applications after that date; however, we cannot guarantee an admission decision by March 10 for late applicants.

  • March 1

    Financial aid materials due to SSS by NAIS
  • March 10

    WMS sends admission and financial aid decisions by mail and email
  • April 10

    Last day to notify WMS of admission decision
