  • History

    Our school was founded in 1886 as Saint Mary's School in Concord, New Hampshire. In 1935, Head of School Dorothy McLane moved the campus from the urban Concord area to the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. Read more about our history.

  • Students

    There are 125 students in coeducational classes at the School; 80 percent of students are boarding students, and 20 percent are day students. Our students hail from all over the U.S. and the world. This year alone, 16 states, the District of Columbia and 12 countries are represented by our student body.

  • Teachers

  • Classes

    The White Mountain School offers more than 50 academic courses, ranging from introductory to Advanced Placement level. And, as part of our LASR program, students propose and develop a major individual course, project or program of their own as a graduation requirement. The average class size is 10 students, and the School has an overall 5:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

Founded in 1886 and set in the beautiful White Mountains of northern New Hampshire, The White Mountain School is a coeducational college-preparatory boarding and day school for students grades 9-12/PG.
