Day Hiking: Pinkham Notch


White Mountain offers two day-hiking trips. This page contains information only about the Pinkham Notch trip.


This group will explore hiking trails in Pinkham Notch. Barnes Field, located by the Peabody River, will serve as our base camp; we will only carry day-packs on our daily excursions. Our campsite offers access to various hiking trails. We will decide which trails to hike each day depending on the group’s ability level, the weather forecast, and the group’s interests. The following is an example itinerary:

Day 1
Hike The Sugarloaf mountains on Zealand Road. Camp at Barnes Field.

Day 2
Hike Glen Boulder trail, Square Ledge and Glen Ellis Falls. Camp at Barnes Field.

Day 3
Hike Mount Williard in Crawford Notch.

Founded in 1886 and set in the beautiful White Mountains of northern New Hampshire, The White Mountain School is a coeducational college-preparatory boarding and day school for students grades 9-12/PG.
