Phillip Dunbridge Joins Community as Assistant Head of School

The White Mountain School is pleased to announce the hiring of Phillip Dunbridge, effective July 1, 2021. Phillip will serve as the School's new assistant head of school for enrollment management, overseeing the Office of Admission and all related initiatives, including financial aid.

"Phil comes to White Mountain highly recommended by former colleagues and enrollment management leaders," said Head of School John Drew. "He has already jumped into work with our admissions team with good humor and professionalism. I'm really glad to be working with him, and I'm excited for him and his family to meet everyone in the community."

With nearly 15 years of experience in independent schools, Phillip comes to The White Mountain School from Rivermont Collegiate. There, he worked to establish and grow a successful enrollment management strategy, which increased enrollment, net tuition revenue, and diversity among the student population. He also led efforts to establish the first international and domestic boarding program for the school, which included the development of a new residential life program.

"I am overjoyed for my family and I to join the White Mountain community. I was aware of The White Mountain School's stellar reputation, but I had no idea the campus and surroundings were so magnificent," says Phillip. "The moment I set foot on campus, I knew I was home. I continue to think of John Muir's quote: 'The mountains are calling and I must go.'"

Prior to his career at Rivermont, Phillip worked within independent schools throughout the United States, including at Maumee Valley Country Day School, Darlington School, Missouri Military Academy, and Idyllwild Arts Academy. He holds an M.F.A. in acting from Harvard University and Moscow Art Theatre School, a post-graduate certificate in school management and leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School, and a bachelor's in theatre and teaching from San Diego State University.

Phillip is joined on campus by his spouse, Cassaundra, and three sons, Ethan, Grayson, and Jude, the latter of whom will begin at White Mountain as a sophomore in fall 2021. In his spare time, Phillip enjoys camping and kayaking with his family, walking through the woods, and acting on stage.
