Financial Aid

Financial aid is available to a wide range of families. Regardless of your requested level of assistance—from partial to full—we encourage you to apply for financial aid. White Mountain works with School & Student Services (SSS), the financial aid service by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), to help determine a family's need. SSS by NAIS makes a recommended family contribution, which we use as a guide when awarding individual financial aid packages. Professionals at SSS are highly accessible to support you through any of their website functions. At White Mountain, we are always happy to speak to families about White Mountain’s affordability and how we serve our families.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Families may apply for financial aid for the 2021-2022 academic year starting November 1, 2021.

Submit the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) on SSS by NAIS. You will be asked to create an account, including our school code (8194), and submit a processing fee ($35 for online submissions, $47 for submissions by mail). To be considered in first-round application decisions—which are made by March 10—SSS must receive the PFS no later than January 31. We recommend utilizing the online option in order to reduce SSS processing time.

Through SSS by NAIS, submit a signed copy of your 1040 (U.S. Individual Income Tax Return) Form and associated schedules, W-2 (Wage and Tax Statement) Form(s), and the SSS Business and Farm Schedule, if applicable. Through SSS, you will be able to track the receipt of documents and monitor your application progress. To ensure a response in the first-round application decision, submit these forms no later than March 1. Please do not send tax documents, physical or digital, directly to White Mountain or any of our employees.

The financial aid amount awarded to an admitted student will be indicated on the contract that accompanies the acceptance letter. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Peter Wickman, director of admission and financial aid, at 603.444.2928 x248 or peter.wickman@whitemountain.org.

The White Mountain School is committed to an admission policy that does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, or physical ability or disability status. We seek to provide opportunities and experience for all students on an equal basis.
