Why White Mountain?

Small boarding schools are truly amazing places to work and live. In particular, White Mountain has students and faculty members that bring an amazingly eclectic array of passions creating a palpable energy in the School community. It's fulfilling to work at a school that empowers students to take ownership of their learning process, and, though it may seem like a small thing, the fact that teachers and students are called by their first name creates place where I believe students feel valued and included. Bethlehem, NH is also a pretty great place to ride a bike, run, ski, play outside, and raise a family.

Not Many People Know That:

I played football in high school and have intercepted a pass from a Super Bowl MVP quarterback.

When Not in My Office, I Can Be Found:

Outside, usually. I love running, cycling, and backcountry skiing, but any other adventure with my wife and son, friends, or students gives me great joy.

Favorite place on campus?

Odd as it may sound, it's West Farm Road. In suburban New Jersey, there aren't a lot of dirt roads. I enjoy its simplicity and beauty. It is how I walk to work or head out on bike rides and runs many mornings. There are incredible views of our campus buildings, the farm, and, as you pass the athletic fields, it opens up to views of Mt. Washington and the Presidential Range. On certain parts of the road, the trees overlap above the stone walls to create a serene natural tunnel, and in the summer it is lined with patches of lupines. Lastly, after a long recruitment trip, nothing feels better than turning onto West Farm Road because it means I'm home and get to see my wife and son.

Favorite tradition at White Mountain?

Community weekend and the 400 ft slip 'n slide down Hoods Hill.
