Dinah Gray

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Education: M.F.A. in Creative Writing, Columbia University, B.A. in Dance, Goucher College Virginia School of the Arts
My primary roles at White Mountain: Director of Dance, Parent
Why White Mountain? The chance to direct an upper-school dance program while also directing a community dance school is so unusual and exciting. Each program can strengthen the other, offering students opportunities and experiences that wouldn’t be possible in a more conventional arrangement.

What influenced your passion for teaching? I think of my dance training as a gift -- I’ve had so many exceptional teachers. Their life’s work was to pass down all they knew. I try to honor them by sharing what they gave me.

What do you value most about the White Mountain community? The thriving dance community created by the presence of Creative Edge Dance Studio.

When not in the classroom I can be found:
Walking our dog or practicing yoga.

Favorite place on campus? The beautiful dance studios!
