Why White Mountain? The opportunity to facilitate student learning that is authentic, with students I can get to know really well through the wide range of activities we share.
What do you value most about the White Mountain community? The feeling of acceptance, support and family. We really care about each other.
When not in the classroom I can be found: Hiking in the White Mountains
Favorite White Mountain teaching moment?
When a 10th grader could not understand the big picture message of The Cherry Orchard, we met to suss out the impacts of the events and characters in the story. When he realized that it was about the power people with new money have over other people who refuse to change and eventually loose everything, he said "I've got it! Like the way rappers are taking over from rock n rollers? The rockers didn't keep up with what people wanted to hear so they are washed up!" Yes, it was an "ah-ha" moment for us both!
Founded in 1886 and set in the beautiful White Mountains of northern New Hampshire, The White Mountain School is a coeducational college-preparatory boarding and day school for students grades 9-12/PG.
