"I still take walks in the woods and try to name the spring wildflowers I learned from Mr. Steele. He was truly a walking field guide..."
I loved everything about my 2 years (junior and senior years) at WMS. I came from a public high school where the academics were boring to WMS where the classes were small, the teachers cared, and I had to learn how to really study and write. I loved the independence and I loved the challenges. I still take walks in the woods and try to name the spring wildflowers I learned from Mr. Steele. He was truly a walking field guide and would so kindly and patiently answer my incessant questions. It took me years to realize how greatly the courses taught and the books read at WMS influenced my view of environmental issues - WMS was way ahead of the curve on this.
Soccer in the fall, ski racing in the winter, and white water canoeing in the spring (even before all the ice in the river had melted), were all joyful adventures that I am so grateful for.
And, of course, it is really the wonderful people that make any place special.
Thank you WMS for the difference you made in my life.
