Residential Life
The White Mountain School offers a unique opportunity for local students to participate in a high quality independent school experience while living at home. We like to call our day students "boarders without beds" because they are welcome to be as active in the school community as our boarders are, but - at the end of their school day - they return home. It's a pretty unique opportunity!

Day students benefit from the diversity of our student body, who hail from 13 different states and 12 countries. They also benefit from the fact that almost all of the WMS faculty reside on campus, so they are always around and available for extra help, extracurricular activities and advising. When the weekend comes along, day students return to join their friends in the many and various activities planned for all students. Day students are as much as part of daily life as any student: Orientation trips, Field Courses (in fall and in spring), the arts, athletics, extracurricular activities, community dinners and special events are all part of the day student experience.

WMS is a college preparatory school where intellectual inquiry, artistic/creative pursuits, and both individual and team sports are valued. All of our students - day and boarding - are engaged in and connected to the school community and have close, supportive relationships with their multi-talented teachers. Here, students are encouraged to explore and develop their own unique talents and passions. We are fond of saying that WMS is what high school should be. We know our day students agree.

Number of Day Students:
