Claire (she/they) has been dancing since the age of 3. They have 10+ years of training in ballet, jazz, and modern, as well as 5+ years in tap, contemporary, and pointe. Claire believes that dance is a way for individuals to express themselves and process emotions. In addition to many years at Creative Edge Dance Studio, Claire spent 2 seasons supporting a movement mentor program for emotional support of young children in North Conway NH, attended Pantos Project Dance Workshops in Boston MA, attended the Vermont State Dance Festival, and most recently spent two weeks studying dance at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, the #1 arts high school in the United States, and was offered enrollment into their program. While in California, Claire trained with Ellen Rosa-Taylor, Jonathan Sharp, Hai Cohen, Justin Epstein, Yuka Fukuda, and Alex Yonkovich. Claire’s time at Idyllwild solidified her passion for dance and encouraged her to be open to pursuing dance in the future. Claire is currently a junior at The White Mountain School, enjoys dance as her full-time sport in high school, is a day student proctor, and is starting her college search. She is interested in the intersection of dance and physical therapy. Claire was thrilled to be asked to teach creative movement to young dancers because she believes that a love of genuine movement from a young age is part of the reason she became the dancer she is today.
