Sam Murray

Sam joined The White Mountain School in 2021 and is the director of our Outdoor and Experiential Learning Program. In addition to this role, Sam teaches chemistry as well as outdoor skills and leadership. Sam lives in Burroughs dormitory where he is the head dorm parent. Before joining White Mountain, he spent 10 years teaching science and guiding outdoor education programs in Colorado and Wyoming. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Colorado College and a Masters in Natural Resource Management from Utah State University. When he’s not teaching, Sam can be found playing in the mountains with his wife Emma and their dog Hatcher.
