Overview

Welcome to The White Mountain School
Set among the beautiful mountains of northern New Hampshire, we are a college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 (and PG).  Since our founding in 1886, we have maintained a clear focus on educating each student as an individual.  We believe all students bring unique talents, passions and dreams to our community. It is our job to nurture these individual interests and help students build meaningful lives.

As you explore our website, you will see all the elements that comprise our remarkable community.  We were founded in the Episcopal tradition, we are inspired by our mountain setting and we are purposely small. These elements ground our vibrant and accepting community.

The White Mountain School remains true to the original focus of New England boarding schools: the development of mind, body and spirit. We develop the mind through engaging classes with remarkable teachers, and through a campus-wide ethos of curiosity and engagement in learning.  We develop the body through sports and other physical activities, making full use of our spectacular setting.  We develop the spirit through reflection, exploration of hopes and dreams, and connections with the broader world.

Parent Perspective
“Other schools have great individual teachers, who build good relationships. White Mountain has something more – a truly great community. It extends beyond individuals – it is in the blood of the organization itself.”
